Boe Jangles (BJ) > The final two bulb wires were attached and the face was reinstalled. ( Do Not turn on the lights untill all wiring has been assembled ) The igniter transforms 25000 volts and it's nothing you want to Mickey mouse with! WOW ! there is nothing like having good lighting, anybody who has HID can attest to this.
Boe Jangles (BJ) > These particular bulbs had a small rounded hump on the plastic that interfered with the seating position of the bulb housing. I used a small file to massage it in place and the fit was perfect..
Boe Jangles (BJ) > The locking retainer ring will need to be dremeled out to allow for the plugs to squeeze through.
Boe Jangles (BJ) > The ballast was ziptied and velcro was used on the backside. All other wires where tucked out of the way and ziptied also. The two plugs you see in my hand attach to the bulbs and must remain loose. (Do not ziptie these)
Boe Jangles (BJ) > The ballast fit snuggly alongside the fairing bracket and far enough away from any of the electronics.
Boe Jangles (BJ) > The igniter was fastened above the horn and zip tied around the horn bracket, velcro was also used in the back for added security.
Boe Jangles (BJ) > Catz system is one of the best in the business equipped with a ballast and igniter and also use quality bulbs that won't burn out at less than 600 hours like some cheap aftermarket kits. Unfortunately these are getting hard to find at the moment but are still available oversees. The good thing about HID is it's ability to withstand shock better as supposed to regular bulbs, a must for off road.
Boe Jangles (BJ) > Remove the stock H4 bulb by twisting the white plastic retainer ring in a counterclockwise direction. Notice the stamping on the housing marked USA. This stamping allows H4 bulb application high/low beam. European models use a H3 bulb for high beam located where the US model carries the driving lamp and H7 for the low beam. This can easily be converted but not neccasary when using HID.
